Expo Results !

First off, I want to say that it was an amazing weekend, and all the teams that competed did so well, and congratulations to all the division champ teams ! Full results and scores can be found at www.cheerexpo.com

My dance team was lucky enough to place first in Dance making us National Champs :) It was a close battle with Dance Acadia who put up a good fight !

My cheerleading team Heat came in 4th place in our division ! Day 2 we did great tho and all our pyramids and stunts stuck ! :) Congrats to the Manitoba Bisons on winning !

So my dance team will be taking the bid and going to COMPETE AT DANCE WORLDS IN FLORIDA !!! Can you believe it ?? I can't !!! hahahah. Me? In a world's competition? wow.... needless to say I had a great weekend ! To all my fellow dance team members and our captain, I LOVE you so much and I can't wait for our dance world's experience :)

All this travel is pricey for us tho.. haha our school is going to cover some of it, but going all the way to Florida is not cheap ! And like my captain said, we are desperate for money so none of us are above begging... or prostitution. Although I don't think my boyfriend would approve of the latter :P

If anyone knows any companies willing to sponsor a team like us as we represent Canada please let me know !!!

Haters - keep talkin' !

Yeah, that's right; haters - keep talkin.

Haters always gonna be talkin about you (yeah the ghetto voice is necessary for this). That's all haters are good for, is talkin'. Haters need to stop talkin', and maybe start "doin'" something.

The more confident you are, and the more things you do - the more haters gonna be on your ass ! Cuz they can't handle it, they have to convince themselves and others around them of how sure they are of you. Well the only thing they can be really sure about, is that a part of them is shocked at your behaviour, and maybe even a little bit jealous !

When I catch a hater sayin shit, cuz it happens often (ex. facebook statuses... yes, I saw it ! ;) ) my initial reaction is to be angry, or upset. But I've conditioned myself to take it as a compliment. Like soverign says "love me or hate me it's still an..." yeah, you know the rest.

So what I have to say is, next time a hating ass bitch got you down, just sing to yourself "1, 2, 4, 3 none of these..." you know the rest of that one too ;)

If you doin' what you doin' and not carin' what other people think about you, YOU ROCK !!!!

Haters keep talking ! Feed our egos and do what you do best ! :)

Cheer Expo !!!

Cheer Expo is coming up this weekend !! For those of you who don't know that is, it is the biggest Cheerleading and Dance competition of the entire year. There will be teams from as far away as Manitoba coming to compete.

For everyone who isn't very familiar with cheerleading; don't expect to see what you see at a football game. This is competitive cheerleading, with many all star teams. This means that people come to cheer the teams on, the cheerleaders actually don't cheer for other athletes because they are superb athletes themselves.

It is a very athletic sport; replace the pom pom's for back tuck baskets, double twists from liberty, and tumbling full twisting layouts.

It really is a show, you will also see kids up to your knees doing things you never even dreamed of doing.

Lucky for me, I'm competing in both divisions, both Cheer and Dance ! I'm with Dartmouth based DCF HEAT Open Level 6, and Saints Marys University Dance Team; Open Dance division. And if my dance team wins at this competition we are going to DANCE WORLDS in Florida, so we'd really love your support !!!!!

Please come and enjoy yourselves, most people I have been talking to said they didn't even know real cheerleading existed in Halifax. Come this weekend and you'll see Bring it On in person !

What about the Music ?

Is it just me or has pop and urban music been lacking lately? And have musicians been focusing too much on other things other than music ?

I remember in my second year of university I was literally buying a new CD every week, every tuesday when CD's came out there was something I wanted to buy, but now I feel like everything I hear I dislike. I don't know if my taste's are changing but music just seems to be dead lately, maybe due to economy .... ? lol

And not only that, it seems there's too much focus on things that aren't even music related. For example, MTV taking the "music television" out of it's logo because it definitely is not about music anymore.

And I know I've been player hating on Lady Gaga a lot, but I just have to make a reference to her because I feel like what I'm saying especially deals with her. Don't get me wrong, I love the girl, but do you think she'd be half of what she is if it wasn't for her theatrics and "statements" ? I know the girl can write music, and I know her music is decent, but in all honesty, haven't we heard it before? What is she offering us music wise ?

And what about the telephone music video ? I signed up for a song not a failed attempt at kill bill 3

I feel like a lot of music tastes now are just based on fads and fashion... and that makes me sad :(

I'm not going to jump on the Lady Gaga train, I love what she stands for, but her music is no better than anyone else's and coming from a dancer, gaga can't dance.

Does anyone know what I mean tho? Have you been dying to hear that song at the club that just hits you in the right spots? But feeling like it just doesn't exist right now... ?

I don't like wasting time

I don't know about everyone else, but when it comes to any form of entertainment, or any form of research, or anything in life for that matter, I like it to be FAST.

I'm the type to watch a movie as opposed to read the book, why? Because I can watch probably more than 10 movies and get 10 stories in the time that it takes me to read one book. It's not because I'm lazy, and I don't feel it makes me unintelligent, I just think it's a more effective use of time. I know book's probably have more content, but honestly, I'm not really concerned with the finer details anyway.

And research in school, I don't like this old way of thinking "For this paper you must only use books and scholarly journals." Ok.. so I have to spend hours digging through a library, just to find the book. Then I have to waste time reading this book to find if it's relevant to my topic, oh look at that ! It has nothing to do with what I'm looking for, there goes my entire day at the library....

Professors... Why can't we use google and Internet resources? You'd think since life is becoming more convenient and advanced that our methods of research should be too? I can type exactly why I'm looking for in Google and get 1000 hits. Bam, paper done in 4 hours.

I'm a type of thinker that time is money. I don't mind working hard, I love working hard, that is evident through all the things I do. But I do dislike wasting time that could be better spent on other things. Anyone agree with my line of thinking or have any arguments?

Who wants to waste their time reading hundreds of pages when you can have all the relevant information in a few clicks?

Things Everyone Should Know.

Since we, young people, are going to decide the future of this planet, there are a few things that we seem to forget about that we should keep in mind....

40% of the world's population accounts for 5% of global income (The richest 20% of the world's population accounts for 3/4 of global income.)

--> What does this mean? This means that there is a small handful of painfully rich people and those who are not in this handful are mostly living in poverty. (You are in the handful)

2.6 billion people do not have access to sanitary water. (Think about how many people live on the planet). Most of these spend hours a day just trying to obtain it.

Number of children in the world: 2.2 billion
Number of children in poverty: 1 billion

Global military spending: 780 Billion US dollars
Global education spending: 6 Billion US dollars

A billion people entered the 21st century unable to sign their names. In other words, about 1 in 7 people do not know how to spell their own names and have never been taught.


Something to think about.

When you thinks someone's a *bad word*

We've all thought, or heard someone say that someone else is stuck-up, or that they're a b-word. I want to speak in defence of these people.

When someone walks around with a lot of confidence, and is cool and collected, people are always quick to call them stuck up or unfriendly. I have come to learn that these people end up often being the sweetest and most sensitive people.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think I know why. I think a lot of these people are really just afraid of getting hurt so they don't go throwing themselves around at everyone, they want to feel everyone out first, see what their intentions are before they open up.

I can say I've met a lot of these people that are very quiet and don't have much to say at first, but I find when you get to know them, ask them a few questions about themselves they end up being very sweet.

I'm not really sure, but I know I definitely could be one of these people. Because I know I'm very stand-offish and quiet at first. I keep everything to small talk until I start to see what someone's personality is like, then I open up.

So I guess the moral of this post is, to not judge people too quick and call them bitches, or stuck up, because if you just give it time they usually end up being the sweetest people !

I'm sure you all can relate, EVERYONE has a best friend that they disliked at first ! :)

Welcome !

Why... Hello there everyone.

To say it's been a while is an understatement. I hope all the people who enjoyed reading my blog will continue reading and not be discouraged by the fact that I haven't written since November 2009.

I can say, that I have done a lot of growing in that time period as a person, and I am ready to share the new me, and the new thoughts and ideas I have.

The blog will essentially be the same, however I plan to take a much more political approach. I feel a lot of the things I said were obnoxious and bold. I figure there are better ways to make a point then to act like Perez Hilton.

A lot of my old posts are deleted and gone, mostly because I don't feel like they reflect the person that I am now.

Anyways, just wanted to leave you all with a quick note, that new posts are to come, and that I will keep you posted on facebook !
